Funky Delicacies proudly unveils a three-LP series of rare, unreissued and never before released rock/funk/blues/soul gems from Rock & Roll Hall of Famer IKE TURNER. HIS WOMAN, HER MAN is a two-volume set of unreleased jams recorded at Ike’s home studio, Bolic Sound, in the early 1970s. Ike & company offer fine slices of rock and funk such as their version of Lee Dorsey’s “Ya-Ya,” Alice Cooper’s “Only Women Bleed” and a much funkier version of “Proud Mary” that hadn’t seen the light of day until now. The back covers of both albums feature reflective photos of Ike in action – place both covers together to create a poster effect.
This is art in the truest sense of the word.-Where Y'At Magazine May 2003
“Lean and Mean” –Mojo Magazine
“Gangster Funk…Photographs this real and grooves this heavy can’t lie.” –Where Y’at
“…Unarguably at the top of Ike Turner’s long list of fine accomplishments; an under appreciated, undervalued and undeniably funky soul gift…monumental…dynamite.” –Wax Poetics
