HIS WOMAN, HER MAN (DEL CD 0045) is the anticipated CD release of Funky Delicacies’ set of unreleased jams featuring Ike and Tina Turner at their funky prime. Recorded at Ike’s home studio, Bolic Sound, in the early 1970s this CD imposes the funky touch of the Kings of Rhythms’ “Black Man’s Soul” period over a broad range of world-class Tina Turner performances widely ranging from the gutt bucket blues of “I’ve Got My Mojo Working”, to the modern rock of Alice Cooper’s “Only Women Bleed”. A special revelation is the original and much slower, much funkier version of Ike and Tina’s signature interpretation of “Proud Mary”.

“…Unarguably at the top of Ike Turner’s long list of fine accomplishments; an under appreciated, undervalued and undeniably funky soul gift…monumental…dynamite.” –Wax Poetics
