Funky Delicacies continues with it's trip across the urban centers of America that began with profiles of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Chicago and Detroit to profile the Houston scene as it was captured by Ovide Records. Featuring rare and unreleased tracks the album captures the period of soul on the cusp of funk at its zenith (best exemplified by the world wide hit "Tighten Up" by Archie Bell and the Drells). The album includes tracks by Americans of '68, the 4 Avalons and the Ambassadors of Soul many of them backed by the T.S.U Toronados and offers a vivid portrait of the Tex-Mex inflected soulful funk that defined the sound of Ovide Records and the sound of Houston.
