And Now...The TSU Toronados

TSU Toronados

Funky Delicacies

DEL LP 0016

Best known as the band behind Archie Bell & the Drells' soul classic "Tighten Up". THE T.S.U. TORONADOS were Houston, Texas' answer to Booker T. & the M.G.'s and Motown's Funk Brothers. The T.S.U.'s scored a few hits of their own including the dance favorite "Getting The Corners". To this day, collectors of rare soul/R&B world-wide have been searching for these T.S.U. rarities. "...AND NOW THE T.S.U. TORONADOS" compiles their hits from 1968 to 1969 with rare & previously unreleased tracks straight from the vaults of Ovide Records. This is the first time the T.S.U.'s classics have been assembled for one album, remixed & remastered from the original session tapes for the cleanest, fullest sound! Featured are the funky jams "GETTING THE CORNERS", "THE TORONADOS" & "BACK AFTER THE NEWS" as well as the mellow "WHAT GOOD AM I" & "A THOUSAND WONDERS". The previously unreleased tunes include "NEE NEE" (featuring the T.S.U.'s Robert Sanders on the Hammond organ) & their version of Wilson Pickett's "IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR". "....AND NOW..." comes in a vintage-designed album cover with rare group photos of the Toronados.
