DEL CD 0070
Poison, a Richmond, Virgina based funk band was every bit as devoted as its local peers Starfire (DEL CD 0068) to pure undiluted funk, yet with a slightly more Afrocentric approach. Where Starfire departed from pure funk to sound like the Stylistics, Poison departed to sound like Earth, Wind and Fire. Their eclecticism is further evident on their ultra-funky cover of the Doobie Brothers' hit "Long Train Running" and the sweet ballad "Let Your Fingers Do The Walking". This album was taken entirely from master tapes.
