Been Down That Muddy Road

Joe Barry

Night Train International

NTI CD 7140

If the phrase Americana hadn't already existed it would have had to have been invented for this album "Been Down That Muddy Road" by swamp rock legend Joe Barry. His first recording in twenty-five years, this album brilliantly captures this profoundly southern American personality in the kind of late stages of life we have only previously heard in the likes of the recordings of blues within the 20's and 30's. There is a brilliant story attached to this album insofar as the most modern uses of technology were employed in recording this album almost entirely from Barry's sickbed in Cutoff, Louisiana. This album will be supported by heavy Americana radio promotion and selected print advertising, and the release will be accompanied by the release of a video. Where Y'at magazine commented, "Hands down, the regional album of the year... a miracle and a masterpiece." Offbeat magazine calls the album "a stunning musical portrait of a man reckoning with his past, present and future."
