"Red Beans & Biscuits" picks up where "Rib Tips & Pig Snoots" (STS CD/LP 6345) left off and documents the recording and production work of the rebel Johnny Appleseed of Chicago/ Detroit soul and rhythm and blues, Andre Williams. Andre's body of work reflects his constant state of change: everything from doo-wop-inspired soul to flanged and distorted guitar rock over deep breaks to pimp-strut keyboard funk are all found here. This collection demonstrates Williams' amazing versatility while documenting a solid heap of funk and soul.
